Two Friends and a Bear
There were two very intimate friends. Once they were passing
through a forest. The forest was full of ferocious animals and the two friends
were very much afraid. But they promised to stand by each other in danger.
Suddenly they saw a bear coming towards them. One of them knew hoe to climb a
tree. He at once climbed up a tree and hid himself. The other man finding no
other alternative fell flat on the ground and held his breath pretending to be
dead. The bear came up to him and smelt his nose, ear and face took him to be a
dead man and left the place. Because the bear does not eat the meat of a dead
animal. When the bear was gone, the man in the tree came down and said, “thank
God that you are saved. But friend, I saw the bear put its mouth very close to
your ear. Did it say anything to you?”.
The friend replied. “Yes.
The bear tell me not to trust a friend who left me in my danger to seek his own
safety”. Then the friend realized his fault and apologized to him for his
selfishness.
Moral: A friend in need is a friend indeed.
